Valencia quarterback Sean Murphy is one of nine players from the Foothill League to earn spots on the All-CIF Southern Section Northern Division football team.
Malik Townsend, a receiver on the Valencia football team, joined Murphy on the offensive team. Vikings linebacker Anthony Costleigh and defensive back Tedric Thompson were selected to the defensive team.
Hart had three players on the All-CIF team. Trent Irwin was selected as a receiver and Connor Wingenroth earned a spot as a utility player. Austin Murillo made the team as a defensive back.

The Valencia girls come in at No. 12 in Division 1AA. The Saugus girls are No. 14 Division 2A.
In high school soccer, the Saugus girls maintained their hold on No. 2 in the Division 2 rankings despite losing their first game of the season to Hart on Friday.
The Santa Clarita Christian girls are ranked No. 4 in the Division 7 poll.

In college basketball, The Master’s College women, ranked No. 8 in the NAIA, beat Arizona Christian University, 100-47, in a Golden State Athletic Conference game. The Lady Mustangs are undefeated at 15-0.
The Master’s College men’s basketball team lost to Arizona Christian, 84-69.
The College of the Canyons men’s basketball team beat Citrus College, 81-77, in overtime.
The College of the Canyons women’s team also beat Citrus, 68-54.
In the NBA, the Clippers, playing without injured Chris Paul, crushed the Memphis Grizzlies, 99-73. Matt Barnes and Jamal Crawford each scored 16 points to lead the Clippers.
