One person has died and two more people are in critical condition as a result of a collision Saturday near the intersection of Sierra Highway and Davenport Road, about 3 miles northeast of Santa Clarita city limits.
The crash was reported at 5:42 p.m. Preliminary reports indicate it involved a red pickup truck and a white pickup truck.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene. At least one other person was airlifted to Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills, and another was transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Valencia.
As of 6:30 p.m., all north- and southbound lanes of Sierra Highway were expected to be closed for three hours.
