This week we stayed around the average of reported Part-1 crimes. There was a commercial burglary from the 22600 block of Garzota Drive on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Suspect(s) unknown broke into a shed at the location and stole miscellaneous tools belonging to the maintenance company. Detectives are following up on leads in this case.

There has been a trend of metal thefts over the Santa Clarita valley where suspect(s) unknown are taking the metal cages which cover the city’s irrigation systems. This is the case for a theft which occurred between Friday, 01/11/2013, through Monday, 01/14/2013, along the 24700 block of Copper Hill Drive. If you see anyone tampering with these cages please report the suspicious activity to the Sheriff’s Department immediately by calling 661-255-1121.

There was a petty theft in the 28500 block of Argenti Court between Thursday, 01/10/2013 and Friday, 01/11/2013. Copper pipe was taken from multiple houses that are under construction.

There was a petty theft in the 24000 block of Copper Hill Drive on Wednesday, 01/16/2013, between 7:15 p.m. – 8:15 p.m. The victim left his duffel bag in the apartment’s gym. When he returned it was missing. Please remember that times are tough and criminals are looking for any opportunity to make some money. If you are going to take personal property with you and leave it unattended, try to leave it in an area that is easily visible so you can keep an eye on it.

There were a number of arrests made by proactive deputies this past week. Deputies have been addressing a known drug house in Saugus. Several arrests have been made out of this house over the past several months. Last Thursday, 01/17/2013, two residents of this house were arrested for possession of a controlled substance during a search. With proactive deputies working on this targeted problem location, we hope to put an end to this problem and other potential property crimes occurring as a result of this house.

If you have any information regarding the above mentioned crimes please call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121.
