Deputies from the L.A. County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau have investigated a report of a shallow grave in the Angeles National Forest.
A hiker reported finding the apparent grave Tuesday at about 6:15 p.m. It was located near Big Tujunga Canyon Road at mile marker 2.92.
Detectives excavated the “grave” site and reported that although the “natural environment has been recently disturbed,” no human remains were found.
(Note: A car registered to a missing Santa Clarita woman, Sarah Alarid, was found Wednesday in a different location – near Sand Canyon Road at mile marker 7.98. A body was found inside the vehicle.)
