This week Newhall (Zone 6) had ten reported Part-1 crimes. Newhall saw one assault, two stolen vehicles, two petty thefts, one grand theft, one robbery, two vehicle burglaries, and one incident of shoplifting.


On Thursday, 04/09/2013 at approximately 5:00 p.m., a bicycle was reported stolen from The Old Town Newhall Library. The victim left his bicycle parked (unlocked) inside the library by the front door. The bicycle was stolen (ref -04833).


Three men were arrested on Saturday, 04/13/2013 at approximately 11:22 a.m. for allegedly stealing a large amount of metal from the area of Sierra Highway and Remsen Street in Newhall. This area is an old oil refinery which consists of several abandoned buildings. Over the past several years other people have been arrested for stealing metal from this area (ref -05021).


A 1999 Honda Civic was stolen from the area of Dockweiler Street and Ivy Lane in Newhall. The vehicle was stolen on Saturday, 04/13/2013 between 7:33 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. (ref -05090).


A shoplifting incident occurred on Friday, 04/12/2013 at approximately 11:30 a.m., from the Ralphs located at 24860 Orchard Village Road. The witness reported two black males stole four bottle of vodka (ref -04973).


A strong-arm robbery was reported on Sunday, 04/14/2013 at approximately 12:10 a.m., in the area of Spruce Street and 13th Street in Newhall. The victim reported while standing on the sidewalk an unknown suspect came running from behind and grabbed her purse. The investigation is on-going (ref -05059).
