The Saugus Union School District Governing Board is pleased to announce Chad Hammitt as the district’s new Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.
Hammitt will be coming to Saugus after 16 years in Santa Ana Unified School District where he was most recently the Assistant Superintendent of Personnel Services. Additionally, Hammitt has a background as an executive director of human resources, an elementary principal, assistant principal and an elementary teacher.
Hammitt grew up in Ventura and is excited to come to Saugus. He has his BA from Vanguard University, MA from Azusa Pacific University in Educational Leadership, and is in progress to receive his Educational Doctorate from the University of Southern California. Hammitt has a strong background in Human Resources and Saugus is looking forward to his joining the District.
Superintendent Dr. Joan Lucid said, “Mr. Hammitt comes to Saugus with a strong educational and human resources background and we are confident that he will be a welcome and strong addition to our management team.”
Hammitt will focus on communication and collaboration to support and further Saugus Union School District’s ongoing student success.
“SUSD has a track record of ongoing student achievement and my goal is to keep that continued focus and work collaboratively to assist the board and superintendent in moving the district forward,” Hammitt said.
The new Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources will join the district in June and will immediately begin his new assignment by meeting with the district’s major stakeholders, visiting all of the school sites, and developing an action plan that will address both the district’s short and long-term goals.
