This week we saw a small reduction in Part-1 crimes compared to last week. The most concerning of the crimes were two stolen vehicles. The first was stolen from the corner of Bouquet Canyon Road and Vasquez Canyon Road on Saturday, 01/11/2013, at approximately 10:00 a.m. The victim had his white 93’ Honda XR600 motorcycle taken. There were no witnesses to the theft.

The second stolen vehicle occurred in the 21600 block of Spice Court on Wednesday, 01/09/2013, at 6:20 a.m. The victim had his vehicle stolen when he left it running and unattended with the keys inside. The vehicle was later located in the LAPD Foothill Division area. With the current frigid temperatures some may be tempted to leave their vehicle running and unattended in order to warm the interior. Keep in mind that this creates a perfect opportunity for a criminal to steal your vehicle. Avoid doing this if at all possible.

There was a petty theft in the 21100 block of Cedarfalls Drive on Wednesday, 01/09/2013. The victim had electrical equipment stolen from her residence. The suspect is known and the investigation is ongoing.

There was a petty theft in the 22500 block of Soledad Canyon Road on Sunday, 01/13/2013, at 2:20 p.m. The victim had his iPod stolen when he set it down to help a customer. The victim confronted the suspect who denied stealing the iPod. The suspect then left the location. Detectives are continuing the investigation to identify the suspect.

Notable arrest: On Wednesday, 01/09/2013, at approximately 1:30 p.m. there was a call of a possible drunk driver driving erratically. Deputies responded and located the suspect near the corner of Bouquet Canyon Road and Newhall Ranch Road. A traffic stop was made and the suspect was detained. While the suspect was being detained, deputies found her to be in possession of a controlled substance. She was subsequently arrested.
