Temple Beth Ami Offers High Holy Day Services

templebethamilogoOn Sept. 4, Jews across the globe will welcome in the year 5774. Temple Beth Ami is getting ready for the observance of the High Holy Days, and many events and services are planned.


Erev Rosh Hashanah services begin on Wednesday, September 4 at 8 p.m. Services continue on Thursday, September 5 at 9 a.m. Children and pre-teens (ages 10-12) will have their own programs that run concurrently with the main observance.


The yearly tradition of Tashlich — the casting off of sins — continues and will be held at 2 p.m. on September 5 (after services) at the Santa Clara River (corner of Bouquet Canyon and Valencia Boulevard). Services for the second day of Rosh Hashanah will be held at Temple Beth Ami in Newhall on Friday, September 6 at 9 a.m.


One week later, the holiest day on the Jewish calendar, Yom Kippur, will be observed. Kol Nidre services begin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 13, followed by Yom Kippur services on Saturday, September 14 at 9 a.m. Yizkor, a memorial service, will be conducted at 11:30 a.m.


A special children’s program will take place concurrently with the main service. Pre-teens (ages 10-12) also have their own programming. Closing services will be held at Temple Beth Ami at 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 14. Temple Beth Ami is located at 23023 Hilse Lane, Newhall 91321.


This year, Temple Beth Ami is pleased to return to the beautiful Valencia Hyatt for our Rosh Hashanah services on September 4 and 5, as well as our Yom Kippur observance on September 13 and 14. The Valencia Hyatt is located at 24500 Town Center Drive, Valencia 91355.
