At least one person is dead as a result of a collision involving two tractor-trailers on Interstate 5 north of Pyramid Lake.
The two big-rigs collided Tuesday at about 6:04 a.m. in northbound lanes, one-quarter mile south of Smokey Bear Road.
One of the big-rigs caught fire and was fully engulfed in flames. It ignited the nearby brush.
All northbound lanes were closed at about 6:30 a.m. and traffic was diverted. The left lane opened at 7:30 a.m., and a Sigalert remained in effect on right lanes while heavy-duty tow trucks were brought in to clear the debris.
Emergency personnel are likely to remain on scene until after 10 a.m.
