A look back at the part 1 crimes reported in Newhall last week shows a drop in significant incidents. There were no residential burglaries reported in Zone 6. Be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious behavior 24 hours a day to Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station (661)255-1121. On Sunday the 11th, at 6:25 a.m., somebody pried open the payment drop box at the Newhall County Water District office and took the checks customers had dropped in the box. A red SUV was seen on surveillance video (ref 11055).


On Wednesday the 14th, a domestic violence incident occurred in the 24900 block of Walnut Street. Family violence is a crime. The Sheriff’s Department and the family abuse intervention resources available in LA County can provide assistance to victims of family violence.


Between Wednesday the 14th and Thursday the 15th a laptop was stolen from the trunk of a vehicle owned by a resident on Red Oak Court. The vehicle was being used to run errands and the exact location the theft occurred is unknown (ref 11224).


Property was taken from two vehicles parked on Breckenridge Ln, between Thursday the 15th at 6:00pm and Friday the 16th at 4:00 p.m. (ref 11269 and 11245). Remember to lock your vehicles and secure your valuables out of sight.


On Friday the 16th between 9:00am and 10:30am, a vehicle parked at the Towsley Canyon Park recreation area had a window broken and a purse was stolen (ref 11252).


Two vehicles were reported stolen in Newhall. On Saturday the 17th a white 2001 Chevy Express, License 03448J1, was stolen from the 24900 block of Walnut St (ref 11325) and on Sunday the 18th a gray 2003 Chevy Tahoe, License 6UVZ579, was stolen from the 23500 block of Wiley Canyon (ref 11376). It is unknown how the vehicles were stolen and neither has been recovered yet.
