Zone 5-Valencia reported twenty three Part-1 Crimes during the past week. The criminal incidents included a grand theft motorcycle, residential/vehicle burglaries, commercial burglaries and shoplifting from local businesses.


A grand theft motorcycle occurred on the 24100 block of Del Monte Drive at noon on Tuesday, March 12, 2013. The motorcycle was a 2006 Harley Davidson that was stolen from the victims driveway. A suspect was apprehended shortly after and booked at the station for grand theft motorcycle and residential burglary. The case is currently be handled by Santa Clarita Station Detectives.


There were three residential burglaries this week. One occurred on the 24600 block of Town Center Drive between the hours of 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm during the week. Entry/exit was made through the side garage door. Items stolen were golf clubs and men’s clothing. A second burglary occurred on the 24500 block of Town Center Drive between the hours of 8:00 am – 10:00 pm during the weekend. Entry/exit was made by picking the lock to the front door of the residence. Nothing was stolen however the home appeared to be ransacked. The third burglary occurred on the 23800 block of Via Jacara between the hours of 8:00 am- 5:00 pm. The items stolen were a lap top computer and men’s jewelry. A person of interest has been identified and detectives are actively working the case.

Six vehicle burglaries occurred in various areas of Valencia between the hours of 4:00 pm – 9:00 am. Four of of the six burglaries had no forced entry to the vehicles and two vehicles had entry/exit made via smashed passenger windows. All vehicles were parked in the driveway or on the street in front of the victim’s residences. Items stolen included a briefcase, an I-Pad, IPhone, phone charger, clothing, wallet, credit cards and money. There were also two thefts from unlocked vehicles. One occurred on the block of 25400 block of Via Impreso between 2:00 am – 4:00 am and the other occurred on the block of 24900 block of Avenue Kearny between 4:00 pm – 8:30 pm. Items stolen were a GPS, cell phone, I-Pad and auxiliary batteries. All items were visible from the outside of the victim’s vehicle.


Do not become a victim! Please do not leave valuables unattended or visible in your vehicles. Secure items in locked trunks or take personal belongings with you when you exit your vehicle. If possible, park in well-lit areas.


There were also two commercial burglaries that occurred inside the men’s locker room at a local gym. Both victims reported locking their lockers with combo style locks. When they returned to their lockers, the locks were locked but had been tampered with. Items stolen were wallets, IPhone, and IPod.


There were twenty-four arrests made by proactive Santa Clarita Deputies assigned to the Valencia area last week. Arrests included; grand theft auto, theft from vehicles, possession of narcotics, driving under the influence of alcohol, and shoplifting from local businesses.
