Suspected Canyon Country Car Thieves Arrested by LAPD

lapdLos Angeles Police Department officers arrested two suspects after they allegedly assaulted a Canyon Country man and stole his car.


On Saturday, August 10, 2013 at approximately 12:50am a male (resident of Canyon Country) aged 56, reported that after parking his vehicle in the 17600 block of Jakes Way, Canyon Country, he was approached by three black males (17 – 19 years old) who asked for his car keys. When the victim refused, the males began to assault him. During the assault, the victim was able to throw his keys away from him. The males ceased their assault, took the victim’s keys, and stole his 2009 Lincoln MKX.


Approximately 90 minutes later, police officers from the Los Angeles Police Department, Hollywood Station, attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the victim’s vehicle. The vehicle initially failed to yield but stopped a short distance later. Several males fled from the vehicle. Two of the three suspects were apprehended a short time later.


At this time no additional information is available. The two males taken into custody are in the process of being transferred to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. Their names are unknown at this time.
