This week in Saugus we had five Part-1 crimes. There was a grand theft in the 26500 block of Craftsman Court that was reported this week, however, it occurred back in June. The victim reported that someone had ordered $14,000 worth of merchandise from him. Once the merchandise was delivered the money he received from the transaction was taken out of his account. It turned out that the purchase was made using a fraudulent credit card.


There were two thefts from unlocked vehicles over the past week. The first occurred between sometime Sunday, 07/28/13 through Saturday, 08/03/13. The victim stores his house boat at Saugus Station Storage located at 25655 Springbrook Avenue. He returned to his boat after a week and discovered that someone had stolen miscellaneous items. Entry was made through an open window.


The second theft occurred in the 22500 block of Tula Drive on Wednesday, 08/07/13, between midnight and 7:30AM. The victim had her purse stolen from her unlocked vehicle which was parked in her driveway. Detectives are working both incidents.


We had a shoplift burglary from Albertsons, 27631 Bouquet Canyon Road, on Saturday, 08/10/13. Deputies arrested a repeat shoplifter as she exited the store with items concealed in her purse.


Lastly, there was a residential burglary in the 21100 block of Avenida De Sonrisa on Friday, 08/09/13. Deputies responded to a burglary report call and located two individuals sitting in front of the victim’s house. Once they detained the two individuals they found narcotics and property in their possession. After further investigation deputies discovered the property in the suspect’s possession belonged to the victim of the initial call. Both individuals were arrested and booked at Santa Clarita Station.
