Delaney Knudsen
Delaney Knudsen and her teammate Skylar Caputo reached the round of 16 at the FIVB 19-Under Beach Volleyball World Championships in Porto, Portugal.
According to the Los Angeles Daily News, Knudsen and Caputo, a Mira Costa High School standout, lost to Brazil’s Eduarda Santos Lisboa and Taina Silva Bigi 21-11, 21-14 in the round of 16. The Brazilian team went on to win the gold medal.
Knudsen, a 2013 graduate of Valencia High School, was a captain of the Vikings girls volleyball team that won the Foothill League championship in 2012 but lost in the second round of the playoffs to Canyon (Anaheim).
