KCSN's Gonzalez Wins Coveted Journalism Award

jongonzalezJonathan Gonzalez, Wednesday night news anchor on Cal State Northridge’s digital radio station, KCSN 88.5 HD2, has won an Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio Television Digital News Association.


Gonzalez transfered to CSUN from College of the Canyons, where he anchored the weekly Cougar News program seen on SCVTV. He’s also a news assistant at KABC-TV in Burbank.


He won the Murrow award for the association’s California-Nevada region in the “Use of Sound” category for his radio feature, “Positive Effects of Video Games.”


The feature explores the “positive effects video games can play in people’s lives, from being used as a starter for kids to begin exercising to the potential games have in making interpersonal relationships stronger, and even the curing of depression in teenagers in New Zealand.”
