CougarNews.com | Gunman spotted at Cal State Northridge

A lightly complected male, was spotted with a gun exiting the Oviatt Library at California State University, Northridge today at 4:50 p.m., according to an emergency press release by the university police services.


Authorities are currently conducting a search of the library and the surrounding area while the college has warned students to avoid the area.


The school emailed students and faculty to inform them on the situation.


The man is described as wearing a red t-shirt underneath a black jacket and carrying a backpack. Anyone with information is urged to call university police at 818-677-2111 or to call 911 if in need of help.

This is an emergency message for California State University, Northridge. Tis is the Department of Police Services. We have received a report of a man with a gun last seen exiting the basement of the Oviatt Library. Description of the suspect is male, light complected, red t-shirt under a black jacket, black backpack carrying a silver gun. Police are actively searching the area.
