Many Santa Claritans know Jo Anne Darcy as the city’s “mayor emeritus,” having been elected to the original City Council in 1987 and serving as mayor four times before leaving office in 2002. Many will remember that she also served as Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich’s SCV field deputy ever since he was first elected to the office in 1980. But do you remember what she did before that? Here, Jo Anne turns back the clock to discuss her local “beginnings” as co-owner (with husband Curt) of the Acton ’49er, as well has her time as executive director of the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce.
