Five players from the Trinity Classical Academy Knights were selected to the All-CIF Southern Section 8-Man Division 2 football team.
Spencer Klehn was selected as the Division 2 player of the year. Teammate Patch Kulp earned the defensive MVP award.
Klehn rushed for 821 yards and scored 21 touchdowns, caught 23 passes for another 457 yards and six touchdowns, intercepted six passes defensively and recovered three fumbles.
Kulp led the team in tackles with 142, had four sacks, three interceptions and four fumble recoveries. It is the second year in a row the 5-11, 200-pound linebacker has earned All-CIF honors.
Eli Skorich and Nick Spinello were selected to the All-CIF offensive team. Ryan Brooks was selected to the All-CIF defensive team.
Head coach Mike Buchanan was selected as the Division 2 8-man football coach of the year.
The Knights won the CIF-Southern Section 8-Man Division 2 championship when they defeated Joshua Springs 47-0. Trinity finished 2013 as the No. 1 8-Man football team in the state, 28th in the country.
