This week’s Wendy’s of Santa Clarita and SCVTV Student Athlete of the Week is senior Nikki Aganian from Hart girls basketball.
Nikki has a 4.0 GPA and views high school as the starting point for the rest of her life.
“So I can get into a good college,” Nikki said, when asked why good grades are important to her. “And so I can be successful later on in life.”
Nikki wants to stay close to home, and while she’s applied to many UC schools in Southern California, one on particular has her eye.
“My dream school is UC-Irvine,” she said. “It’s close and my cousin graduated from there and she said she liked it a lot. I just want to be close to home.”
Even though she does well and likes math, Nikki isn’t thinking what most high schoolers like her want for a career. Instead of engineering or computers, this basketball player wants to major in business finance.
“I really don’t know what engineers do,” she said. “And my dad went to school as a business major too.”
And her advice to incoming freshman?
“Just to keep your priorities straight because what you do in school will effect you for the rest of your life.”
Congratulations to Nikki Aganian of Hart High School, the Wendy’s of Santa Clarita and SCVTV Student Athlete of the Week.
