Parents and community members are invited to attend an information night on Common Core State Standards, which are set to be implemented throughout the state for the 2014-2015 school year. The first of three sessions that are being offered is on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 6:30 pm at Hart High School in the auditorium. Parents of students attending Hart School District schools and local elementary schools are welcome to attend, along with members of the community interested in learning more about this new initiative.
Two additional nights are planned and parents and community members may choose to attend any of the three sessions. Additional sessions are planned for Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Arroyo Seco Junior High School in the multi-purpose room and Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Golden Valley High School in the theater. Both are at 6:30 pm.
Michele Krantz, director of professional development and Dave LeBarron, director of curriculum and assessment will be presenting information about the background of the standards, the district’s implementation plan and discuss how students will be assessed for their learning.
There will also be an opportunity for questions and answers.
