The Santa Clarita Valley Family YMCA (the “Y”) is excited to host its Annual Halloween Festivities for families in October. On Oct. 12 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., join your local Y family for fun with a indoor trick or treat, costume contests, a chili cook off, haunted house activity center, along with crafts and games. This is an opportunityfor Santa Clarita residents to enjoy time with their families in their own back yard.
The YMCA, known as the Young Men’s Christian Association has been around since 1844. The “Y” has evolved from being a volunteer organization for young men to a cause driven organization that help people in times of need with a place to go where they can feel supported, improve their well-being and create meaningful experiences in their lives. Additionally “the Y” provides an environment to bring families together through projects, campouts and volunteer opportunities.
Last year, the Santa Clarita Valley Family YMCA helped over 3,000 children and adults take charge of their health, spend quality time together as a family, develop relationships with neighbors, learn new skills, improve their grades and enjoy a laugh with staff and other members. Today the Santa Clarita Valley YMCA offers a fitness facility, youth programming, parent-child programming also known as Y-guides, and before and after school childcare at 6 different locations. The staff ensures that they create an environment for all members to be a part of a family at “the Y”.
We encourage everyone to come see what the Y has to offer. We are interested in learning more about you and getting to know you. Stop by our facility and take a tour and be a part of our family. To learn more about the impact we’re making in Santa Clarita and to get involved, contact us at 661-253-3593 or visit ymcala.org/scv for more information.
