On Saturday, Oct. 5, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., the West Ranch High School Marching Band, and Band Boosters, present the 5th Annual Wildcat Classic. The Wildcat Classic is a Southern California School Band & Orchestra Association (SCSBOA) Marching Band Competition.
Ten high school bands are slated to perform, including local Wm. S. Hart District championship Marching Bands. This is a great opportunity to see so many bands perform in one venue. In addition to Hart District schools, Chaminade HS, Lancaster HS, Los Angeles HS, Lompoc HS, and West HS (Torrance) will also be participating.
Marching Bands will be competing by division, followed by a showcase performance of the outstanding, West Ranch High School Wildcat Marching Band & Colorguard, 2012 SCSBOA State Champions. The evening will culminate in an awards ceremony with trophies presented in each division, as decided by SCSBOA judges. Division classification is based on the total number of musicians in the band, including brass, woodwinds and percussion.
The West Ranch High School Band will again be hosting the Wildcat Classic at Valencia High School’s Dr. Paul Priesz Stadium, 27801 N. Dickason Drive in Valencia. Tickets are $10 each and parking is free.
New this year, food trucks will be on site. The Wildcat Classic will be hosting Romolo’s Italian Cuisine, Trailer Park Truck, Germany’s Famous Bratwurst, and Let’s Roll It. Other concessions include Kupcake Kitchen, Smooth Operator, and Kettle Corn by Red Apron.
The West Ranch Wildcat Band invites everyone to come and support their favorite area high schools. Bring your friends and family to enjoy this entertaining marching band field show.
