To celebrate California Water Awareness Month, the Castaic Lake Water Agency (CLWA) will hold its annual Open House in Central Park and the CLWA Conservatory Garden from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2013.
A variety of activities for kids will be available, including animals from Placerita Nature Center, gardening, and coloring.
The L.A. Country Fire Urban Forestry Unit will be handing out free trees.
The Wyland Clean Water Mobile Learning Center will also be making its return to Central Park. The 1,000 square foot trailer is fully interactive, with a one-of-a-kind experience that encourages visitors to engage, play, experiment and learn about conserving water.
Stop by the CLWA’s smart irrigation controller booth to get more information on irrigation. You can take CLWA’s online course to receive a free controller. (Be sure to bring your water bill with you; you will need to know your account number.)
Shuttle service will be provided to take visitors from Central Park to tour the Conservation Garden. CLWA staff will show visitors a working model of CLWA’s treatment plant.
During the Open House, there will be water-related events scheduled throughout the day, and fun activities. For more information check out CLWA’s website.
