Two northbound lanes have reopened and two remained closed following an early-morning collision on Interstate 5 south of Templin Highway.
The collision occurred about 4:05 a.m. when an SUV rear-ended a parked tractor-trailer.
A California Highway Patrol spokesman said one female occupant of the SUV died at the scene. It is not yet know whether she was the only person inside the vehicle.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was sleeping inside his vehicle. The collision broke its rear axle.
A Sigalert was issued and all northbound lanes were closed. The two left lanes reopened at about 9:45 a.m. and the two right lanes remained closed as of 10:30 a.m.
