Mustangs Tied for First in Golf Championships

At the end of the second round of the NAIA Regional Championships held at the Diamond Woods Golf Course, in Monroe, Ore., the No. 11 nationally-ranked Master’s College golf team sits tied for first place with Warner Pacific out of a field of eight teams with a score of 619 (314, 305).


TMC boasts all five of their golfers in the top 20.


Thane Ringler (Hutchinson, KS) sits tied for fifth with a score of 9-over 153 (79, 74).  Michael Reitz (Denver, CO) and Andrew Bergoon (Mobile, AL) both shot 12-over 156 and are tied for ninth.  John Lawson (Mobile, AL) sits tied for 16th at 159 (73, 83), while Nolan Sand (Hoquiam, WA) is tied for 18th at 160 (82, 78).


The Mustangs look to capture their first victory of the season tomorrow in the final round of the tournament.  As an extra incentive, the winning team will earn an automatic berth into the NAIA National Tournament.


The Mustangs have made six appearances in the national tournament.
