Soroptimists Give 'Bras' Bucks to Cancer Support Group

Soroptimist International of Santa Clarita Valley recently presented a $2,500 check to Circle of Hope Inc.

The donation was a portion of the proceeds raised during Soroptimist International of Santa Clarita Valley’s ninth annual Bras for a Cause Salutes Our Hometown Heroes fundraiser held at the Tournament Players Club in Valencia.

The annual Bras for a Cause features elaborately decorated bras that are auctioned off to raise funds for breast cancer services in the SCV.

The donation will assist Circle of Hope Inc. breast cancer patients and their families by providing financial, emotional and educational support.

Circle of Hope Inc. was founded by breast cancer survivor Colleen Shaffer in 2004.

The nonprofit breast cancer organization provides support services for uninsured and underinsured individuals with breast cancer, their families, and the local community.

Since 2004 the nonprofit has assisted more than 130 clients and has provided more than $100,000 in financial support.

Soroptimist International of Santa Clarita Valley is a volunteer organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls locally and throughout the world.
