Zone 5-Valencia reported twenty eight Part-1 Crimes last week. The criminal incidents included a grand theft motorcycle, residential/vehicle burglaries, and shoplifting from local businesses.

A grand theft motorcycle occurred on the 24100 block of Del Monte Drive at 11:00 pm. The motorcycle was locked and stolen from the parking structure at the location.

There were ten residential burglaries that occurred in various areas of Valencia. Eight of the ten were garage burglaries which occurred during 6:00 pm – 8:00 am hours. The areas affected were the 24100 block of Newhall Ranch Road, 24800 block of Magic Mountain Parkway, 20700 block of Channel Lane, 24100 block of Channel Lane, and 26900 block of Via Terraza. Most of these reports indicated entries/exits were made through unlocked side doors of garages. Items stolen were lap top computers, IPODs, tools, jewelry, skateboard and phone chargers taken from the garage area and from unlocked vehicles parked in the garage. Two of the burglaries occurred during 8:00 am- 5:00 pm on 23800-23900 block of Rotunda Road. Entry/exit was made by kicking the front door of the residence.

A reminder, please lock and secure all doors and windows in your home, including the garage area. If you see any suspicious activity, please call the Sheriff’s Station immediately at 661-255-1121.

Two vehicle burglaries occurred between the early morning hours of 10:00 pm – 8:00 am. Areas affected were the 26100 block of Newhall Ranch Road and 26100 block of Magic Mountain Parkway. The vehicles were parked in parking structures at the locations. The items stolen were a lap top computer, IPOD and sunglasses which were left on passenger seats or in center console area. All the items were visible from outside of the vehicles. Entries/exits were made by smashing passenger windows.

Do not become a victim! Please do not leave valuables unattended or visible in your vehicles. Secure items in locked trunks or take personal belongings with you when you exit your vehicle. If possible, park in well-lit areas.

There were twenty four arrests made by proactive Santa Clarita Deputies assigned to the Valencia area last week. Arrests included, burglary, spousal assault, driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of drugs, warrants and shoplifting from local businesses.
