The City of Santa Clarita is holding a reception celebrating young artists and their creations at the Old Town Newhall library this Saturday, Feb. 9 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
“The City of Santa Clarita and our public library is dedicated to increasing opportunities for community members to participate in and be exposed to high quality art experiences, while increasing awareness of the value the arts add to the community,” said Heather Sumagaysay, Communications Specialist for the city of Santa Clarita.
“The exhibit features artwork from a four week art series with art educator Margo R. Gravelle and includes oil pastel drawings of Chinese zodiacs, paintings of traditional designs on Amate paper, symbols from Eskimos and Japanese fish rubbings on rice paper,” said Kelly Behle, Children Services Coordinator for the Santa Clarita Public Library.
The reception celebrating young artists and their creations, which are now on display at the Old Town Newhall Library is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Santa Clarita Public Library.
Margo R. Gravelle is a studio artist, teacher and trainer. She teaches classes for beginners of all ages and enjoys working with children to explore their creative abilities.
