Tierra Del Sol Celebrates Art, Raises Funds

Last week, Tierra del Sol celebrated the work of established and emerging artists from its Sunland Studio Arts program, at the seed & bloom art show, held Aug. 28 at Tierra’s Sunland campus.

About 140 people turned out for the show, which featured more than 50 works by 20 artists working in an array of media, from acrylic, watercolor and pen and ink, to ceramics. Works displayed represented the pioneers of Tierra’s Fine Arts programs and were exhibited alongside several up-and-coming artists.

Maria Jones, art instructor and exhibition coordinator, was thrilled to report $3,500 in sales from the show – a huge increase from last year’s event.

“This was a chance to celebrate the creative people who continue to inspire us with their amazing work,” she said. “It also provided an opportunity for the community to meet the artists face to face.”

Events such as seed & bloom help demonstrate that there is no limit to creative expression. The artists in Tierra’s art programs gain exposure through exhibitions as well as make valued contributions to the community, both culturally and economically. The artists’ talent, dedication and work are truly inspiring. To view more work by these artists, please click here.
