Patriot Day was celebrated in Santa Clarita with a little elbow grease as volunteers rolled up their sleeves and went to work during HandsOn Santa Clarita’s inaugural 9-11 Day of Service and Remembrance; At Northpark Elementary School Girl Scout Troop 8722 raised the flag to half-staff as the entire school gathered to say the Pledge of Allegiance and sing the national anthem.

The parents of a missing Laguna Niguel teen were victimized by a car burglar Tuesday afternoon, when they were looking for their son at the Castaic Lake recreation area; A Canyon Country man was sentenced Wednesday on charges that he molested a 13-year-old girl; An art piece for the Newhall Roundabout was scheduled to be selected on October 31, but that’s all being put on hold until city staff survey our valley on what they would like to see at the gateway to Old Town Newhall; local weather.


Entertainment:

Grammy-winning Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Famer Jimmy Cliff is performing a free show Thursday at the Santa Monica Pier; This weekend, Exit 81 and the Repertory East Theater in Old Town Newhall will present an updated production of “The Vagina Monologues”; on Saturday night, SCVTV House Blend alums Nacosta open a month-long residency at the legendary Casey’s Irish Pub in downtown Los Angeles.
