The father of a Laguna Niguel teen who was declared missing last week was the victim of a car burglary Tuesday, while he was leading a search party looking for his son in the area around Castaic Lake in Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies were alerted to the burglary by an off-duty LAPD officer who called the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and reported the crime, according toto Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Deputy Josh Dubin.

Deputies initiated a search of the area around 1 p.m., and quickly found the suspects, who are also being investigated for their potential involvement in other burglaries in the unincorporated parts of Los Angeles County, where this crime took place, Dubin said.

The suspects are an 18-year-old man and a 27-year-old man, both from Los Angeles.

The suspects are in custody and their names will not be released because they’re part of an ongoing investigation, Dubin said.

The father of Bryce Laspisa, who was declared missing Saturday, did not have his vehicle vandalized and his property was recovered by deputies.

Parks Bureau deputies worked with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station to catch the suspects, Dubin said.

Bryce Laspisa’s 2003 Toyota Highlander was found overturned on the Castaic Lake Main Boat Launch access road early Friday morning.

Laspisa is 5’11” tall, 170 pounds, red hair, blue eyes, and has a tattoo of Taurus bullhead with Roman numeral on left shoulder. He was last seen wearing white cargo shots, blue/white checkered shirt, white and red Nike shoes. He is listed as a Critical Missing Person nationwide.

Deputies are still searching the Castaic Lake area for the body of a Laguna Niguel teen who was reported missing last week.

Deputies with the Sheriff’s Department have been searching for the last seven days, said Johnie Jones, spokesman for the Parks Bureau.

“They’ve been searching different areas, they’ve been searching by horseback,” Jones said. “We have all-terrain vehicles — we’re searching everywhere we can. We’re trying to search the whole area and leave no stone unturned, so to speak.

A burning body was found near Lake Hughes Road in Castaic on Thursday, however, Sheriff’s Department officials have not released whether the discovery was related to the missing teen.

If you have any information on Bryce Laspisa’s whereabouts, please contact Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station’s Sergeant Wallace 661-272-2594 or California Highway Patrol Sergeant Reyes 661-294-5540.
