WorkSource Center Recruiting Candidates for Training Program

worksourcelogoJob seekers interested in a career in commercial equipment repair are invited to attend a free recruitment and eligibility workshop at the Santa Clarita WorkSource Center on Friday, May 24, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The orientation will be held at the Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook University Center, Room 107, located at 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road. All job seekers are encouraged to arrive on or before 9:00 a.m.


Sponsored by the Fast Track Institute, the orientation will review a new employment training program that prepares students for entry level positions in the field of commercial foodservice equipment repair and service. Primary duties for someone in the field of commercial equipment service technicians include technical installation, diagnostic troubleshooting, and repairs on commercial industrial-grade food service appliances equipment and systems. To qualify for the program, interested candidates must possess the following requirements: High School diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record (2 yrs.); willingness and ability to be involved with the emergency on-call rotation that may include nights and weekends; and reading for information and Applied Mathematics at WorkKeys level 3.


The course program is flexible during evenings, online and on weekends beginning May 31, 2013 through June 17, 2013. The course fee is listed at $1,695 but can be waived for qualified applicants.
