Blotter: 3 Part-1 Crimes on West Side

This week zone 3 saw three part-one crimes. Of those crimes, zone 3 had one robbery, one petty theft, and one commercial burglary.


A robbery was reported from WalMart located at 25450 The Old Road. This incident occurred on Monday, September 9, 2013 at approximately 9:35pm. A black male, who was approximately 28 years old, stole a camera from the location and brandished a knife at a loss prevention officer who attempted to detain him for shoplifting. The suspect fled and was not located. The case is still under investigation (ref -12441).


A petty theft was reported from the AM/PM gas station located at 24800 Pico Canyon Road. This incident occurred on Monday, September 9th 2013, at approximately 1:10pm. Two suspects pumped someone else’s gasoline, and fled the area without paying. The suspect’s vehicle was later found and impounded by deputies. (ref -12417).


A commercial burglary was reported from the 25300 block of Silver Aspen Way. This incident occurred between September 11th and 12th at an unknown time. An unknown suspect(s) entered the business center of the apartment complex and stole two computers. It is under investigation as to who stole the computers (ref -12548).

Currently zone 3 has had 18% more reported part one crimes then this same time last year. Part of this increase in reported part one crimes has to do with thefts reported from Magic Mountain. Last year at this time zone 3 had 269 reported part one crimes. So far this year zone 3 has had 318 reported part one crimes. Do not become a victim! Please do not leave valuables unattended. Do not leave items visible in your vehicles. Secure items in locked trunks or take personal belongings with you when you exit your vehicle. If possible, park in well-lit areas. If you see any suspicious activity or vehicles in your neighborhood, please call the Sheriff’s Station immediately at 661-255-1121.
