Aug. 21: Public Meeting on Lyons-Dockweiler Extension

citylogo_sealPlacerita Canyon and Newhall community members are invited to provide feedback at a public meeting for the road extension project on Lyons Avenue and Dockweiler Drive Extension. The public meeting will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Century Room at City Hall,  23920 Valencia Boulevard.

City staff and project consultants will be available at the meeting to provide detailed information on the project and the environmental review process.  The Lyons Avenue and Dockweiler Drive extension project is designed to improve traffic circulation, safety and access to the Placerita Canyon and Newhall communities. The project will include almost a half mile extension of Lyons Avenue, from Railroad Avenue to the future connection with Dockweiler Drive near the Master’s College site.

Additional project benefits include wider traffic lanes, enhanced landscape medians, a bike lane and upgrades to the railroad crossing east of Railroad Avenue at the intersection of Lyons Avenue.

Comment cards will also be provided at the public meeting for participants to submit their feedback regarding the project and the areas to be analyzed in the Environmental Impact Report.
