The Golden State Athletic Conference has named Mustang pitcher A.J. Work (Boise, ID) as Pitcher of the Week.
In nine innings of play last week, Work of the No. 7-ranked The Master’s College, did not give up an earned run while striking out nine batters. Besides a final inning in a 10-1 win against La Sierra, the senior left-hander went eight innings in a 4-1 win over Vanguard with seven strikeouts and allowed no earned runs while running his record to 8-3. The victory was the 26th of his career, the second-most wins in program history.
The Mustangs look to continue their conference dominance as they travel to Phoenix, Arizona, this weekend to engage in a three-game series against Arizona Christian starting Friday at 2:00 p.m.
