Santa Clarita Transit is encouraging high school students who will be in their junior and senior year in fall 2013 to apply for a unique opportunity to participate in an all-expenses-paid, five-day trip to Washington, D.C., as part of the third annual American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Youth Summit.
Students from across the country will come together June 23 – June 27, 2013 to learn how public transportation helps build vibrant communities and improves the environment at APTA’s Generation Green on Board Youth Summit.
The hands-on summit will explore how communities as a whole can prosper with increased services; the role local and federal policies play in public transit usage; introduce students to lawmakers and congressional leaders; and expose participants to career opportunities in the transit industry.
Completed applications are due on Monday, April 22, 2013 and can be emailed to students@apta.com or faxed to 202-496-4323.
