one 5-Valencia reported 23 Part-1 Crimes during the past week. The criminal incidents included a grand theft auto, spousal assault, residential/vehicle burglaries, and shoplifting from local businesses.
A grand theft auto occurred on the 28100 block of McBean Parkway in the early morning hours on the weekend. The vehicle was a 2007 Chevy Truck stolen from the parking structure at the location.
A spousal assault, involving a husband and wife who reside in Ontario, occurred in the 25800 block of Tournament Road. A physical altercation resulted in the arrest of the husband who was booked at the Santa Clarita Station. Minor injuries were sustained by the victim.
There were seven residential burglaries that occurred this week. Five of the burglaries involved garages where entry/exit was made through the side garage door. Areas affected were the 24100 block of Newhall Ranch Road and the 24900 block of Magic Mountain. Items stolen were an IPOD, a radar detector, and a lap top computer all taken from unlocked vehicles parked in the garages. The other two residential burglaries occurred at the 23700 block of Via Gavola and the 26200 block of Parkview Road. Both burglaries occurred between 9:00 am- 12:30 pm hours. Entry/exit was made through the back doors of the home. Items stolen were two lap top computers. I

Two vehicle burglaries occurred between the early morning hours of 6:00 pm – 8:00 am. One burglary occurred at the 25300 block of Via Palacio. The vehicle was parked in the driveway and no forced entry was made to the vehicle. Items stolen were passports and Canadian currency. The second occurred at the 25500 block of Avenue Stanford. The vehicle was parked in the parking lot in front of a business. The item stolen was a car stereo amplifier.
Do not become a victim! Please do not leave valuables unattended or visible in your vehicles. Secure items in locked trunks or take personal belongings with you when you exit your vehicle. If possible, park in well-lit areas.
There were 12 arrests made by proactive Santa Clarita Deputies assigned to the Valencia area last week. Arrests included, weapon charges, warrants, spousal assault, driving under the influence of alcohol, and shoplifting from local businesses.
