Santa Clarita’s new city manager, Ken Striplin, is headlining the Valley Industry Association’s January luncheon, giving local business leaders a chance to get to know the man who’s newly in charge of City Hall.

“Mr. Striplin’s experience as Assistant City Manager means he really hit the ground running,” said VIA CEO/President Kathy Norris. “We’re honored that he agreed to be our guest for January, so our members can get a firsthand preview of what’s in store for Santa Clarita as the new year gets under way.”

Striplin, who recently took over for retiring City Manager Ken Pulskamp, will speak at the monthly VIA luncheon, 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the Valencia Country Club.

Reservations are required. Those who reserve by Jan. 3 pay just $40, and reservations made from Jan. 4-10 cost $45. Non-members and those reserving after Jan. 10 pay $50 if seats are still available. Those who attend without a reservation will pay an additional $10. Reservations can be made by calling the VIA office at (661) 294-8088, or through the VIA website: https://www.via.org/Calendar/EventDetails.aspx?id=275.

In addition to Striplin’s presentation, the luncheon will feature a spotlight on SCVTV, Santa Clarita’s local television station.

gWith our new City Manager and SCVTV in the lineup, this luncheon will draw a great crowd, so people should make reservations as soon as possible,” Norris said.

The luncheon’s sponsors include Mellady Direct Marketing, the city of Santa Clarita, Poole & Shaffery, LLP, L/B/W Insurance & Financial Services Inc., SCVTV and KHTS.
