Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit

Zone 5-Valencia reported seventeen Part-1 Crimes during the past week. Overall, Zone 5 finished this year with a 2.88-percent drop in crime from last year. The criminal incidents from this past week include residential/vehicle burglary, and numerous petty theft/shoplifting from local businesses.

The residential burglary occurred in the 24700 block of Magic Mountain Parkway. The victim, while moving to another apartment, left two high end guitars unsecured in the garage. Within fifteen minutes, they were stolen. No suspects or witnesses were located at the time of the incident. A couple of hours later, two suspects (a male and female adult) were arrested in Stevenson Ranch in connection with the stolen guitars. The investigation is being handled by the Santa Clarita-Burglary/Theft Detectives.

There were three vehicle burglaries that occurred on the same day between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The vehicles were parked in two different gym parking lots. Victims left their purses and wallets under the floor board or in the center console of the vehicles. Entry/exit was made by smashing a passenger rear window. Again, I cannot express enough to please not leave valuables unattended or visible in your vehicles. Secure items in locked trunks or take personal belongings with you when you exit your vehicle. Be cautious of your surroundings and if possible park your vehicles in well-lit and highly visible areas. If you see any suspicious activity, please call the Sheriff’s Station immediately at 661-255-1121.

There were twelve arrests made by proactive Santa Clarita Deputies assigned to the Valencia area last week. Some arrests included, warrants, domestic violence, possession of narcotics for sales, driving under the influence of alcohol, and shoplifting from local businesses.
