Assaults, Thefts Top the Crime Blotter in Valencia

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit

 

Zone 5-Valencia reported 20 Part-1 Crimes during the past week. The criminal incidents included residential burglary, domestic violence, aggravated assaults, theft from a vehicle, robbery and petty theft/shoplifting from local businesses.

A residential burglary occurred on the 22900 block of Sycamore Creek Drive. The victim had paint ball guns and guitars stolen from his bedroom. There was no forced entry made to the residence however, the victim believes an ex-tenant stole the items. The investigation is being handled by the Santa Clarita-Burglary/Theft Detectives.

A domestic violence incident occurred on the 25800 block of Estaban Drive. The incident occurred between a boyfriend and girlfriend with minor injuries reported. One aggravated assault occurred on the 23800 Mcbean Parkway on New Year’s Eve. Two victims were involved in an altercation with an intoxicated female. Minor injuries were sustained. The female was arrested and booked at the Santa Clarita Station without incident. The second assault occurred at the 27000 block Summer Grove Place also on New Year’s Eve. Two male whites were arrested for a felony battery likely to cause injuries. Both cases are being investigated by Detectives assigned to the Santa Clarita Station.

A theft from a vehicle occurred on the 25000 block of Plaza Larios. The victim left the vehicle unlocked during the holiday weekend. Items stolen were gift cards which were located in the center console of the vehicle. Entry/exit was made through the unlocked doors. Again, please do not leave valuables unattended or visible in your vehicles. Secure items in locked trunks or take personal belongings with you when you exit your vehicle.

Be cautious of your surroundings and if possible park your vehicles in well-lit and highly visible areas. If you see any suspicious activity, please call the Sheriff’s Station immediately at 661-255-1121.

A robbery occurred during the daytime at the 25300 block of Avenida Ronada. The victim, while writing a check in her kitchen, had her purse stolen off the counter by a gardener. Entry/exit was made through the open garage door which connected to the kitchen. The victim was not injured during this incident. No suspect or witnesses were located at the time of the report.

There were ten arrests made by proactive Santa Clarita Deputies assigned to the Valencia area last week. Arrests included, aggravated assaults, warrants, driving under the influence of alcohol, and shoplifting from local businesses.
