The following is the latest installment in the countdown of Top-10 Moments in The Master’s College Athletics for 2013.
4. Men’s Cross Country – Fourth consecutive GSAC Title/Zach Schroeder Coach of the year honors.
On Saturday, November 9, Matthew Crichton, John Hurd, Joshua Sherfey, and Tyler Tockstein were named to the Men’s Cross Country All-GSAC team based on their performances in the conference championship race.
Sherfey and Hurd finished one-two for the Mustangs, placing fourth and fifth overall with times of 25 minutes and 37 seconds and 25:49 for the 8,000-meter course. Crichton and Tockstein were not far behind, placing seventh and ninth with times of 25:56 and 26:07, respectively.
Earning a first-place finish, The Master’s College won its fourth consecutive conference title. As a result, head coach Zach Schroder was named the GSAC’s “Coach of the Year” award for the fourth straight year.
