A Frisbee golf fundraiser will be held Saturday to benefit the family of cyclist Kevin Korenthal, who sustained major injuries in a head-on collision with a car last weekend on Sand Canyon Road.

The event, organized by family friend Steve Petzold, is called The Kevin Korenthal Open and will be held at Central Park, 27150 Bouquet Canyon Road, at 10 a.m. The suggested buy in for the event is $20.

“Kevin lives his life with a lot of passion, he lost a leg (as a result of) another accident and he doesn’t let that slow him down,” said Petzold. “It’s a miracle he’s still alive. He’s a huge advocate for bicycle safety.”

“He is doing well and has a lot of therapy but will get through this,” Petzold said.
