Send medical assistance to the Philippines now!
That directive from our President, Roger Presgrove, was the last statement he made on behalf of Help The Children before he went home to be with the Lord, our God after his five year battle with melanoma.
I want to encourage you to help us fulfill Roger’s wish. Please send your gift of any amount as a memorial to honor the memory of Roger Presgrove, the founder of Help the Children, and designate your gift to help the victims of Typhoon Haiyan. Just [click here].
Roger, with his wife Roxana, had started the wonderful ministry of Help the Children some 15 years ago. With your help, we have grown far beyond all expectations. Roger’s heart of compassion for hurting people– especially children–along with his entrepreneurial leadership, had seen us expand to four continents.
It includes a food market for the poor and a church based food distribution programs in Southern California, assistance for veterans and military families, disaster relief in the USA and around the world, building and operating a hospital in Guatemala, assisting orphans in Kenya and a center in Honduras for children undergoing cancer treatments.
Previous to Roger’s passing, the 13 member board, which I have chaired for several years, asked me to step in as the interim president when it became clear that Roger would not be able to continue in his leadership role.
Roger had poured his vision for Help the Children into all of us. It has been exciting to see the enthusiasm with which our board, and many significant supporters, have rallied around Roger’s vision and core values. We are committed to continue to make those dreams come true and grow Help The Children so we can provide help for more and more needy children and their families.
As Roger prepared to leave us, he kept thinking and speaking of how we could help the victims of this disaster in the Philippines. We are making it happen, but we still need your financial support. Medical assistance in the form of medicine, enough for at least 100,000 children and their families, is on the way. But we have not yet covered all of the the costs of those supplies.
Please send your gift and honor Roger today. May God bless you.
