The public is cordially invited to step back in time to first century Palestine at its “Night in Bethlehem” event on Saturday evening, Dec. 21.
The event will combine elements of a Christmas pageant (with arrival of the Holy Family) along with a retelling of the Christmas story, singing of Christmas carols, crafts for the children, free dinner (first-century style) and much more.
Everyone is encouraged to come in costume if possible. A simple robe or toga is fine; nothing fancy required. And costume dress is certainly not required to participate, only encouraged to help add to one’s enjoyment of the evening.
St. Stephen’s requests that each attendee bring a can of food to “pay the Emperor.” All food collected will be donated to local food pantries.
All the fun begins at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 21 at St. Stephen’s, 24901 Orchard Village Road. Additional information is available on the parish website at www.st-stephens.org.
