CougarNews.com | COC Hip Hop club dances to the rhythm of their own beat

College of the Canyons Hip Hop Club began last semester by COC student Danielle Moore.  Moore started the Hip Hop Club so she could share her love of dance and fill up some of her free time.

The COC Hip Hop Club held auditions at the beginning of the fall semester and and quickly began practicing once the team was created.  The Hip Hop team practices two times a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays for four hours or more.

The members on the team remains close by doing various bonding activities and exercises in order to get to know each other and feel comfortable with one another.

Before the team hits the stage they circle up and share quotes and words of encouragement to get each member pumped up and ready to perform.  This support improves their performance on stage greatly and they often shout out to each other during the live performance.

Moore and a few of the other board members choreograph the dances that the team performs.  The Club has participated in performing in multiple places around the valley.

I recently had the opportunity to watch the team perform at a cancer benefit where they showed superior skills and joy on stage.
