So far 2013 has been a great year for the Santa Clarita Valley Education Foundation. Our presence in the community is expanding and our ability to help students is growing because of your generous support. As an Education Foundation we are unique in that we are very hands-on and serve all five school districts in the Santa Clarita Valley. Your support is vital to the foundation accomplishing its mission to help our students, teachers and schools. Whether it’s through volunteers assisting children with their reading or contributing to providing materials for programs, you have a direct impact on the educational success of our students.
Please help us to continue to support excellence in education by donating. As little as $15 will fill a bag with books for our Bag of Books Program. For $100 you become a Friend for Education for a year. Please Make a donation today.
Success Story: The “Read With Me!” Program Is Bigger Than Ever
Our in-school volunteer program began in fall of 2009 with two schools and 10 volunteers. in the Spring of 2013 we had 64 volunteers who worked in 94 classrooms, giving 1,438 hours of their time helping nearly 700 students improve their literacy skills.
2013/2014 Enrichment Program Begins
Being able to give teachers much needed materials for classrooms and school wide programs is one of our highlights of the year. Starting November 1st, teachers can apply for items to enhance the curriculum in innovative and creative ways. As an SCVEF supporter, you have put books and art in the classroom, upgraded technology, created gardens, inspired young writers and scientists, and added excitement to learning.

As part of our growth efforts we’ve just launched a new SCVEF website where you can learn more about the foundation and how your contributions make a positive impact on Santa Clarita Valley Schools. Also, don’t forget to Like us on Facebook and tell all your friends about the SCVEF.
