100th Anniversary of L.A. Aqueduct | Photos by Alan Pollack

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power opened the Cascades on Foothill Boulevard – the “waterfall” on the east side of Interstate 5 just below the Newhall Pass – to the public Nov. 8 and 9 in celebration of the centennial of the aqueduct. William Mulholland’s water project was completed Nov. 5, 1913, when the first water arrived from the Owens Valley.
