Signing Up Online for City Parks & Rec Classes Made Easier

citylogo_sealThe City of Santa Clarita is excited to launch its new online recreation system Rec1 that allows residents to easily search and sign up for upcoming classes. Community members who are interested in registering for classes and programs advertised in spring 2013 SEASONS magazine can plan ahead by creating a new customer account and exploring the Rec1 system before registration opens at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2013.

“Registering for the city’s popular recreation classes just got easier. Thanks to this new user friendly software, residents have an extensive search option that provides a simple and efficient way to browse through the City’s parks, recreation and community service programs,” said Mayor Bob Kellar.

Rec1 is a web-based solution with expanded features allowing the community members to narrow their search to what programs may best fit their needs.  Classes will no longer be recognized by activity codes and can now be searched for under categories, including adults and seniors, aquatics, camps, events and excursions, memberships, youth or by the facility nearest your home, work or school.

Residents interested in registering online for new classes must create a new account in Rec1 before they can register for spring classes and programs. To view the new spring 2013 Seasons magazine, visit www.santa-clarita.com/seasons.
