Coming on the heels of its most successful season in program history, The Master’s College volleyball team has had a busy off-season by signing talent that anticipates continuing last year’s success.
Third-year Mustang head coach Bobby Blanken has announced the signing of Sydney Hamilton, a Hart High School athlete and a native of the Santa Clarita Valley.
With the Indians, Hamilton earned the squad’s MVP award, coaches’ award, and flexed her academic muscles in the classroom by being named a scholar athlete.
Hamilton anticipates not only building biblical-centered relationships at The Master’s College, but also looks forward to competing on the court with the Lady Mustangs. “The relationships among the girls on the volleyball team are like none that I’ve ever seen before. I’m very excited to be a Mustang!”
However, Hamilton’s love for volleyball isn’t the only reason why she is excited about her school of choice.
“I chose The Master’s College because of its Christian environment. I’ve seen the differences in public and private school educations and I really want to be among believers that will grow my knowledge of Christ and Scripture over the next four years,” says Hamilton.
Coach Blanken believes that Hamilton is capable of making big plays and demonstrating valuable leadership on the team. “Sydney’s got a heart that loves the Lord and is extremely teachable,” says Blanken. “I’m eager to see how she grows under teachers that share a similar worldview. I believe she’ll thrive at The Master’s College as she already gravitates to what the school believes in.”
Blanken plans to use Hamilton at both the libero and designated setter positions.
