This past week in Zone 7, the following Part-1 crimes occurred:
(1) Residential Burglary/Attempt, (1) Commercial Burglary, (1) Vehicle Burglary, (7) Thefts from Unlocked Vehicles, (3) Shoplift, (1) Petty Theft
An attempted residential burglary occurred near the 27600 block of Burgundy Crossing Lane. A male and female suspect broke into the victim’s vehicle and took a garage door opener. They then used the opener to gain entry into the garage. When the victim heard the door open, he ran downstairs and saw the suspects walking away from the location.
A vehicle burglary occurred near the 19200 block of Soledad Canyon Road. A suspect shattered the front passenger side window of the vehicle and took a backpack.
On Monday, 02/04/2013, a shoplift burglary occurred at the Wal-Mart located at 26471 Carl Boyer Drive. A male and female suspect walked out of the store with a cart full of unpaid items. The suspects were detained by loss prevention officers and subsequently arrested by responding deputies.
A petty theft shoplifting incident occurred in the 26600 block of Golden Valley Road. The suspect entered the store and placed several items under her purse inside the shopping cart. The suspect approached a register and paid for selected items. She then exited the store, failing to pay for the concealed items. After being detained by loss prevention personnel, the suspect was arrested by responding deputies.
I would like to remind you how important it is to secure your vehicles and not leave any items in plain view. Last week we had seven incidents where items were taken from unlocked vehicles. These incidents can be avoided by taking a little extra time to ensure your possessions are secure. Let’s not make it easy for criminals. I would also advise you share this information with family and friends who may not be subscribed to Nixle.
As always, please call me if you have any questions.
